Renew

Registration and physician recommendations have separate timelines in Ohio, so patients should monitor both rather than waiting until access has already expired.

When should a Slavic Village patient renew?

Ohio patient registration remains active from the date of issuance until the final day of the corresponding month one year later.

The Division of Cannabis Control sends a notification 45 calendar days before expiration. Renewal documents can be submitted beginning up to 30 calendar days before the registration expires. Ohio patient renewal requirements

What does renewal involve?

Check the Expiration Date: Review the date associated with the current patient registration before the renewal window opens.

Continue Medical Care: Maintain an appropriate relationship with an Ohio physician authorized to recommend medical marijuana.

Complete the Necessary Medical Review: Follow the physician's requirements for evaluating whether continued medical cannabis treatment remains appropriate.

Update the Registration: Complete the required renewal submission before the active patient registration expires.

How long does the physician recommendation last?

Ohio treats the recommendation differently from the annual patient registration.

A written recommendation may remain valid for no more than 90 days. The physician may renew it for up to three additional periods of no more than 90 days each. After those periods, another qualifying examination is required before a new recommendation can be issued. Ohio physician recommendation law

What does medical cannabis renewal cost in Slavic Village?

The state registration portion currently costs $0. Ohio previously charged $50 annually for patient registration and $25 for caregiver registration, but the Division of Cannabis Control moved to eliminate those fees.

A physician may separately charge for an evaluation or follow-up appointment. Those professional fees are not set by Ohio.
